Ganadores de los Premios Billboard 2011

Los Premios Billboard 2011 otorgaron las preseas a dedicados artistas quienes con su música han logrado entretener al mundo. El veterano rapero Eminem y la sensación juvenil pop Justin Bieber fueron los que dominaron la premiación, recibiendo cada uno 6 trofeos.

Eminem fue el ganador de las siguientes categorías:

• Top Artist
• Top Male Artist
• Top Billboard 200 Album (Recovery)
• Top Rap Artist
• Top Rap Song (Love the way you lie, feat Rihanna)
• Top Rap Album (Recovery)

Anteriormente Eminen ganó dos Premios Billboard en 2002 en las categorías Best Album of the Year (Mejor album del año) y Best R&B/Hip Hop Album Of The Year (Mejor album del año R&B/Hip Hop). En lo que va de su carrera Eminem obtuvo un total de 8 Premios Billboard. El rapero no estuvo presente en la ceremonia para recibir los premios.

Justin Bieber fue el ganador de las siguientes categorías en su primera presentación en los Premios Billboard:

• Top New Artist
• Top Social Artist
• Top Streaming Artist
• Top Digital Media Artist
• Top Pop Album (My World 2.0)
• Top Streaming Song (video)

El segundo lugar estuvo más reñido con las nominaciones de Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Usher, Taylor Swift, Mumford & Sons y Taio Cruz, quienes obtuvieron 3 trofeos cada uno.

Representando a la música latina estuvieron la cantante colombiana Shakira, quien obtuvo dos premios por Top Latin Artist y Top Latin Song (por su tema Waka Waka – This time for Africa), y el cantante español Enrique Iglesias, quien ganó el Top Latin Album por su disco Euphoria.

Dentro de los artistas que ganaron dos premios Billboard 2011 se encuentran Katy Perry, Chris Tomlin y Train, además de los dos latinos anteriormente mencionados.

Durante el show Beyonce Knowles y Neil Diamond fueron honrados con los premios Millennium (Milenio) y Icon (Icono) respectivamente por los logros en sus carreras. La banda irlandesa U2 ganó el trofeo Touring.

Beyonce recibió un tributo por parte de todas las estrellas, reconocimiento que tuvo como anfitrión a un conjunto de personalidades y estrellas incluyendo la Primera Dama Michelle Obama, la leyenda de la música Barbra Streisand, la cantante pop Lady Gaga, el vocalista de la banda U2 Bono, y el inconfundible Stevie Wonder.

La ceremonia contó con presentaciones de Black Eyed Peas, Rihanna, Keith Urban, Taio Cruz, Cee Lo Green, Lady Antebellum, Nicki Minaj, Ke$ha, Far*East Movement, Pitbull, Mary J. Blige with Lil Wayne, OneRepublic, y la actuación especial de Neil Diamond.

La presentación del evento estuvo a cargo de Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Kylie Minogue, Trey Songz, Scott Weiland, y Taylor Swift.
